Disclosures

Editorial integrity requires transparency. Here is how we make money and how we keep that separate from our editorial work.

Editorial independence

Our editorial team operates independently of our business operations. Editors and writers do not know which businesses have licensed our badge, advertised on our site, or paid for featured placements. Reviews are written and scored based solely on research evidence.

Sources of revenue

Badge licensing. Businesses that receive a Recommended or Highly Recommended verdict may license our badge for use in their marketing. The licensing fee covers usage only and is paid after the review is published.

Display advertising. We accept clearly-labeled advertising from brands in relevant industries. All advertising is labeled as such and never appears within editorial content.

Featured placements. Businesses may pay to appear in clearly-labeled "Featured" slots within their industry category page. Featured placements do not affect editorial scoring or ranking, and Featured businesses are clearly marked as such.

What we do not accept

We do not accept payment in exchange for a review. We do not accept payment in exchange for a higher score. We do not accept gifts, free services, or comped products from businesses we cover. We do not accept paid trips or events from businesses we cover. We do not allow advertisers to influence the editorial content of any review.

Affiliate links

We do not currently use affiliate links anywhere on the site. If this changes in the future, affiliate relationships will be clearly disclosed in the relevant content.

FTC compliance

This page is designed to meet and exceed the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. Any material connections between US Business Reviews and businesses we cover are disclosed both on this page and within the relevant editorial content.
